Ah yes, Halloween. It’s almost upon us. I always look forward to this holiday, but it always seems to sneak up on me, leaving me panicking at the last minute trying to get things ready for the holiday. I’d say I’m like…70% prepared, this time around, but let me tell you, there are still some things I’m panicking over.
Funny enough, the one thing I always panic about is my costumes. Everyone always seems so prepared, and as much as I LOVE Halloween, my costume is always something that just slips away from me. I have plenty of costumes that I used in past years, and more often than not, I wear at least one of them to an event or something, but I always feel like I need to add at least one new one to the roster. Luckily, I was able to, but it included me wandering around a Spirit Halloween store for almost an hour, looking like I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
I’m going to keep that one as a surprise for now, because I’m going to be doing a Twitch stream in that costume, soon.
I, however, do plan on re-doing my Velma costume that I’ve done for the past couple of years, because I love it so much! There’s a Halloween party I’m planning to go to that has an actor/movie/TV show character theme, so I figured this would be the best thing to revamp for that.
In past years, I gender bent it in a way where I wore the orange sweater and glasses, and wore burgundy pants. However, her skirt that she originally wears in the cartoon is decently short, so I was thinking of wearing some burgundy shorts instead, and getting some orange socks. You know, gotta show off some leg or something. You never know who’s gonna be checking me out! Either way, I’m excited for that.
But this is only a fraction of what I’m excited for, this Halloween! There’s so much coming up that I’m BEYOND excited for.
First and foremost, I will be participating in a 72-hour Scare-A-Thon event for charity! There are over 30+ Twitch streamers participating in this event, streaming in 2 hour shifts over the whole 72 hours to raise money for The Trevor Project. I was so happy to be selected for this event because it includes so many other talented streamers, because of my love for horror games, and because of the opportunity to raise money for such a good cause!
I’m going to be playing a game called The Beast Inside, which looks uh, quite spooky, and doing a bunch of silly things to help raise money, so I would love to see you all there! I know it’s at a funky time, which I fully acknowledge as I’m normally asleep between the hours of 2am-4am PST, but if you’re able to be there, it would mean a whole lot to me! Even if you don’t have the money to spare to make a donation, just being there to watch the stream helps the campaign!
Also, though it took me QUITE a while to figure out what I wanted to do the day of Halloween, I think I finally have it solidified. Because Halloween is on a Thursday (a wacky day for a holiday that thrives in the night) I figured having an all-day event on my Twitch channel would be a fun way to celebrate! I will be doing a 12-hour stream, starting at 11am PST, where we will be playing some games together in The Jackbox Party Pack 6, and then later in the night, playing some Luigi’s Mansion 3, since debuts ON HALLOWEEN. I kept going back and forth on which one I wanted to do first, but I ultimately figured waiting until evening to play Luigi’s Mansion would be fun, since then I could turn the lights off and get the mood JUST right for the game. I mean, it’s probably not going to be the spookiest game in the world, but the mood lighting will be cute. I’m ready for it.
I will also be in costume for BOTH of these events! One of them may even be a Luigi costume while we play Luigi’s Mansion 3, depending on whether or not we raise enough money during the Scare-A-Thon stream! I’m super excited for all of this. This is going be SO good.
So despite panicking a bit over my Halloween plans, I think it turned out alright. There are still a few things I need to get so I can be OFFICIALLY prepared, but I think it’s going to be pretty dang good. I’m so excited. I’d love to see you there for any and all of these events! (Except the Halloween party at my friend’s house. That’d be crossing some boundaries, unless I know you, personally).
What are your Halloween plans? Let me know in the comments!
