So you may have noticed a little bit of an aesthetic update to the blog/website. If so, neat! If not, welp, now you know! Also neat!
I’ve had some art work in the works for quite a while, and I just received the files a few days ago! I desperately wanted to change up my presence online, because as my brand was changing, I needed to change the imaging that went alongside it. I wanted something that looked professional, but had some whimsy to it. So this ended up being the logo that the artist came up with:
This is now displayed all over my social media, and I honestly could not be more proud. It’s so visually representative of what I feel my brand has become, and also, it’s just really heckin’ cute. I’m just really pleased about it. You have the lovely, the wonderful, the talented Peppermint to thank for all of the work that went into these designs. She was easy to work with, and I could tell that she really wanted to make sure that she provided a product that would be just what I needed.
In other news…I also recently submitted a story to potentially be published into an anthology of queer stories! I ended up submitting a piece about a “breakup” I went through that happened very soon after my mother’s death, so there were a lot of feelings. The theme is set around the idea of “curveballs” and expectations not meeting reality. It was hard to write at times, but I’m proud of the final product.
Because I’m still waiting for word on whether or not this will get published, I currently do not have the story posted anywhere else, but I DO have it up for early access for my Patreon supporters! So if you’re interested in reading it before anyone else, as well as receiving many other super cool perks, feel free to visit my Patreon page!
Also, because of some mental health things (that are being worked out) and the time I was putting into the story I submitted at the end of last week, I’ve been a little slow with prepping for the novel, but I’m looking forward to getting back into it, this week! I still have some characters to flesh out, then I might write some sort of loose plot outline, and then I’ll be good to start writing the novel! The story has been swirling around in my head for so many months, and I’m starting to fall in love with the characters already, so I’m getting the feeling that this story is just begging to come out.
So yes, with the re-brand finally done, and finally submitting another story for publication, things have been feeling pretty good, again. The gears are turning, the momentum is there, and now I just have to make sure I keep up with it. I’ve made some schedule changes with my days, moving my weekday Twitch streams to the evenings in an effort to structure my days better for being productive. Lots of new things and changes going on, so I’m hoping all of this keeps me motivated!
Hope you all have been well! Thanks for being swell, supportive people. I can’t wait to get started on all the cool projects I have in mind.
